For over fifty years, Hasbro’s™ Candyland® has been the favorite first game of children everywhere. Because no reading is involved, children of almost any age can play Hasbro’s™ Candyland®, and many children fondly remember the game as their first board game experience. Although the face of the game has recently been updated with new graphics and molded playing pieces, it is still the same old Candyland® we all know and love. If your toddler or young child has not had the pleasure of playing Hasbro’s™ Candyland®, be sure to pick it up this Christmas, and spend some time playing with your child – you and your child will be glad you did!

How do you play Candyland®?

The rules of Hasbro’s™ Candyland® are simple. Each player receives a colored playing piece which starts at the beginning of a trail through Candyland®. Players take turns drawing colored cards. The color of the card shows the next space to which the player may move. Players pass the ice cream sea and the peppermint forest, and there are also short cuts through the maze which will help players reach the end faster. The first player who reaches the “candy castle” wins!

Who is the Candyland® game for?

Because no reading is required, this is an ideal game for preschoolers. Children love the bright, colorful squares, cards, and pieces, the cute pictures, and the delightful characters they meet along the way. Best of all, it is the perfect game for older siblings or parents to play with a child, teaching the preschooler skills such as sharing, taking turns, and cooperation.

While Hasbro’s™ Candyland® requires no batteries or assembly, it does contain some small parts, making it unsuitable for children under three years of age. Be sure to keep small game pieces away from babies and toddlers, and supervise young children as they play the game. Smaller children should also be supervised when playing with other children to be sure that they understand the rules and play fairly with everyone. Hasbro’s™ Candyland® has been a traditional favorite game for preschoolers for many years, and now you can get Hasbro’s™ Candyland® for your own children or grandchildren, and enjoy hours of fun and play.

How much is Candyland®?

The retail price for Hasbro’s™ Candyland® is about $15.00, but you can often find great deals which will reduce the cost of your holiday gifts by shopping Black Friday sales. Some Black Friday sales offer up to 80% off the retail price of certain items, especially if you include additional discounts you can gain from coupons cut from sale papers or printed off the internet. Many coupons offer an additional 10%, 15%, or even 25% off already low Black Friday sale prices during certain hours of the sale, and some coupons offer discounts on specific items.

In-store Black Friday sales are conducted during specific hours; many stores are opening as early as midnight on Black Friday, or even on Thanksgiving Day itself. Be sure to check on store hours during all three days of the Black Friday weekend, and try to be at the store as early as possible. Many sale prices are only good as long as supplies last, and supplies may be depleted quickly on high-demand items. If you choose to shop online, you can also save significantly with “Black Friday” sales. These sales are offered at different times than just Black Friday, so check your favorite online retailers for details.
