The “ghouls” have several accessories included in their ensemble, such as a megaphone, pompoms, and red sunglasses. The set also includes a foam finger, a gym bag, and black and pink pennant. Each of the figures is dressed in sporty clothing—cheerleading outfits for Cleo and Draculaura, and a team spirit ensemble for Ghoulia.
How much is the Monster High Fearleading 3 Pack?
The Monster High Fearleading™ three-pack has a suggested retail price of $63.84. Individual action figures often sell for around $19.99. The accessories are interchangeable with those for other Monster High ™ figures—allowing children to mix-and-match accessories and clothing among the characters. None of the dolls require batteries.
What is Monster High™?
Monster High™ is a new line of action-figure dolls which were first released in 2010, created by American artist Garrett Sander. The dolls are said to be the children of various horror-movie creatures such as Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Mummy. Each doll is made of durable plastic and features a unique head design to help distinguish the various characters. The hair tends to be brightly-colored for most of the dolls, and “makeup” is startling. Even the packaging is bright and colorful, with the box containing brief biographies of the characters and clear windows so you can see the accessories and items included with the package.
The popularity of the Monster High™ figures was followed with a series of books written by Lisi Harrison and first released in 2010. New books are promised; there are currently three in the series. Video games will be added to the Monster High™ franchise in October of 2011, with the release of “Monster Ghoul High Spirit”™, available for the Nintendo® and Wii® game systems.
Monster High’s™ acceptance in mainstream culture really began with the television and web episodes featuring the characters in various teen-type situations, such as searching for popularity and making friends, with the added spice of the “ghoulish” background. Zombies, vampires, and monsters are regular features of the show, which has filmed a total of two season with 55 episodes.
Who manufacturers Monster High™ Action Figures?
Mattel® has been the producer of both the action figures and the video media since the inception of the characters. Mattel® also publishes the Monster High™ books, which are marketed through both toy retailers and book retailers. While children seem to love the characters, some parents may be hesitant to buy something that looks so scary.
Actually, the “scary” aspect of the dolls is almost comic; parents who have an objection are usually equating the dolls with their alleged “parents,” the fright monsters of the movies. The Monster High™ collection is targeted for girls in the six- to 12-year-old age range, although boys may enjoy the figures as well.
Parents should be aware, however, that some parts on the dolls are removable, such as the hands and arms. This is to assist smaller fingers in dressing and undressing the dolls, but can be a safety and choking hazard for small children. The highly poseable jointed arms and legs may also break easily at the joints if too much pressure is applied. It is imperative for parents to be aware that any smaller children can be endangered if they play with an older sibling’s action figures or accessories.
Shop Early for the Monster High Fearleading™ 3-pack action figure set
If you are interested in the Monster High Fearleading™ three-pack of dolls for a holiday gift, you should start your holiday shopping early. A huge launch will be pushing these toys over the holiday season, kicked off with the video game launch in October. It is probably best to order your sets early or shop prior to Thanksgiving. On the other hand, you may be able to get a good price if you are lucky enough to find one on Black Friday weekend. However, by waiting to shop until the day after Thanksgiving, you risk the item being depleted before you can find it.
Another option is to shop various online Black Friday sales, which may not be held just on the day of Black Friday. Many retailers are offering good deals on “Cyber Thursday,” which is usually on Thanksgiving Day, during the week prior to Thanksgiving, and on “Cyber Monday,” which is usually a weekend-long sale lasting through the Monday after Thanksgiving. Be sure to check your favorite retailers’ websites for information about coupons, discounts, and details of Black Friday sales.
