The disks for this particular model are known as “XLR Tech”™, and consist of a rubber core with a foam covering. The rubber core gives weight to the missile without making it dangerously heavy. The Vortex™ Vigilon™ comes with five XLR Tech™ disks, enough to fill the reservoir, and more can be purchased separately if desired.
The NERF® Vortex™ Vigilon™ must be primed for each shot, using a priming lever on top of the machine. This does not allow for repeat-action; the toy must be fired as a single-shot weapon. The actual gun is rather large, bright red, and features a tactical rail which is compatible with other NERF®products.
