The look of the new Power Wheels® Dune Racer™ is a sleek, aerodynamic design, with a sloping hood and raised steering wheel, chrome suspension and metal-plated, oversize wheels. The vehicle looks a great deal like a real racecar, and is sure to be a hit with children as much for its sporty, neon-green exterior as its performance.

Made for Two Kids!

An open cockpit seats two children comfortably, and features high-backed seats and a gear shifter to further the appearance of a racecar. Safety belts are included to ensure the children’s safety, as this sporty model travels at speeds up to 5 miles per hour. Reverse speed is limited to 2.5 miles per hour. The car also features nickel-plated side safety bars to further protect the driver and passenger. A storage compartment is included under the hood, and a front bumper helps protect against accidental impacts.

Off-Road Fun

Best of all, the off-road tires can travel over mud, gravel, and wet lawns as easily as sidewalks, allowing the little driver a wide range of play. The car is operated from a 12-volt, rechargeable battery which plugs in to any outlet for charging. The extra-wide construction of the chassis makes the Dune Racer™ very difficult to tip over, even when operating at top speed.

What ages is the Power Wheels® Dune Racer™ made for?

Who is the The Power Wheels® Dune Racer™ is a great gift for children three to seven years. Children under three should not be allowed to operate the vehicle, and any children using the vehicle must, of course, be educated in the safe use of the Dune Racer™, especially around smaller children and when operating close to public roads. This toy encourages sharing and playing together, as two friends can enjoy a ride around the yard or the neighborhood. Children should never be allowed to operate the Dune Racer™ on any public streets.

Does the Power Wheels® Dune Racer™ come assembled?

The Power Wheels® Dune Racer™ requires a bit of set-up by the purchaser, although you may be able to pay to have the unit assembled at the point of purchase. The vehicle comes with stick-on racing stripes and other accessories so you can personalize the look of your child’s Dune Racer™.

How much is Power Wheels® Dune Racer™?

The Power Wheels® line of vehicles, purchased by Mattel® in 1994, offers a range of vehicle choices for children between 12 months and seven years. The Dune Racer™, the newest offering in the Power Wheels® line, promises to be one of the most popular yet. Average retail price is current hovering at $299, although pre-holiday sales may bring this down a bit. However, with the anticipated high demand for the unit, it is unlikely that too many extras will be available by Christmas, so it is important to purchase early if you are interested in having one under the tree.

Who has the best Black Friday Sales for the Power Wheels® Dune Racer™?

Black Friday sales are famous for offering high-demand items at low prices, and Black Friday 2011 will be no exception. With uncertainty about the holiday shopping market, many retailers will make every effort to draw shoppers in with great prices on high-demand items, and the Power Wheels® Dune Racer™ may well be on the list of sales. Be sure to do your homework about the opening hours of stores on Black Friday; many stores are open as early as midnight, and it is anticipated that this particular toy will sell out quickly. Make a plan to visit your chosen retailers as soon as they open, and have a back-up plan in place if possible. Rather than risk not finding the vehicle, you may want to begin shopping early through store paper and internet ads.

Another option is to visit online retailers and hit the pre-Black Friday sales they often offer. While you may have to pay shipping, some retailers waive shipping cost during “Cyber Thursday” or other pre-Christmas sales. Be sure to keep an eye on your favorite retailers’ websites and read carefully about any dates of sales; also, be sure to check on quantities available from those retailers, as many have a limited supply available prior to Christmas. For example, Amazon is already advertising limited quantities of the Power Wheels® Dune Racer™. With the thousands of people surfing the internet for Christmas bargains, it is likely that online retailers will sell out prior to the “bricks and mortar” stores.
