Samsung Galaxy Tablet Review
If you are looking for a tablet as a Christmas gift, the Samsung™ Galaxy Tab® may be your best choice; it is one of the brightest new offerings among the multitude of tablets on the market. With its sleek design, great user-friendly interface, and long-lasting battery power, this tablet is comparable to any other on the market, and is far better than many of its competitors.
One of the smallest and lightest tablets of all, the Honeycomb® 10.1 features all of the apps you have come to expect in a tablet, and it has one of the sleekest appearances of all tablet units. A light silver back and deep black screen make it an attractive piece, and it weighs in at slightly less than the iPad®, its major competitor. For portability, it is hard to beat the Galaxy Tab®.
Android® 3 Capabilities
Although the tablet does not boast a USB port, it still takes advantage of the new Android® 3 capabilities with its “on-the-go” functionality. The unit sports front and rear cameras at 2 megapixels and 3 megapixels respectively, much higher resolution than many comparable tablets.
How long does the the battery last on the Samsung™ Galaxy Tablet?
The battery will last around nine hours with regular use, and the 16GB of RAM ensure that operating speeds will always be high. The touch system may be a bit less user-friendly than the comparable Palm® system HP™ has acquired for its TouchPad® model, but a bit of use makes this interface just as user-friendly in the long run.
Can I dowload apps for the Samsung™ Galaxy Tablet?
Samsung™ has chosen to rely on the Android® market for downloadable apps, which means that users will have access to a wide variety of optional features. Included are a GPS and music system, and apps can be purchased for games and video. The music apps feature “cloud” technology which allows you to easily share files between your desktop, phone, laptop, or someone else’s device. A “social hub” allows you to easily organize information from social media.
Samsung™ Galaxy Tab® Review
All in all, the Galaxy Tab® makes a fine addition to anyone’s grouping of technological tools, and offers very user-friendly screen motion, volume control, and other details. The unit connects with wi-fi and Bluetooth® capabilities. It features Adobe® Flash® support and utilizes the Android™ browser. The speakers may leave a bit to be desired, given its video and audio capabilities, but the unit can easily be connected to external speakers or headphones.
How much is the Samsung™ Galaxy Tab®?
The unit is expected to price at around $499, but you may be able to find sales on this and other technology gifts at Black Friday specials in stores and online. Be sure to check online with your favorite retailers to see if they are going to carry the Galaxy Tab®, and note any special times for online Black Friday sales, which are often held outside of the traditional Friday-before-Thanksgiving pattern.
